#TeamLobo: It’s MORONG fun in the Philippines

In a quick escapade, we celebrated our brother’s graduation in Minanga Cove Morong, Bataan . The trip via NLEX-SCTEX took us 3 hours to a place nestled between the boundaries of Morong and Subic. We journeyed short and sweet while keeping it happy and exciting. Inside the car was already like a revelry, we were singing and throwing in a lot of fun.

At around seven in the morning, we arrived at the place. After paying for the entrance fee of P100/pax and P500 for cottage, most of us went straight to the beach to have a relaxing dip. Breakfast was served thereafter.

Minanga is a secluded beach found in Subic Bay. It lies near the exclusive resorts like Camaya and Anvaya Cove to name a few. But what a prudent trip to say the least as we got a similar beach experience in a reasonable budget.

The grayish fine sand that stretches to a kilometer or two must have been caused by Mt. Pinatubo eruption, just like most of the beaches around the area. The hill that sits on the right side of the cove is a forest that is truly verdant and alive. Not a lot of people frequent the place yet as it is hidden, In fact only a couple of groups had tent set up near our cottage. With the place so picturesque and tranquil, it was the perfect place to relax and celebrate.

As the dew dried up by the morning sun, one by one we returned to have snacks in between. Meanwhile, we drove to Morong Town proper to buy some provisions. We heeded the request to buy seafood. After lunch time, most of us energized thru quick naps . I’ve idled few hours sleeping in the swaying hammock.

The sunset painted the skies yellow. Along with the beauty of sunset, was the cool breeze dispelling the summer heat. As the temperature lowered, we all hit the beach once again to frolic until sundown. It was rather nostalgic remembering what we enjoyed doing as a kid. We used to bathe in the irrigation back in our hometown. We used to build castles out of sand tantamount to our dreams to build our future.

The trip was our first family outing. Behind our laughter and joy was a tinge of wistful memory. It would have been happier having this simple celebration with Tatay but we’d like to believe that he had the best seat watching us very happy and blessed.

We have come to accept the bumpy roads of life for they seem to lead to the best places. .  #TeamLobo is no stranger to these adversities but because of hard work, things seem to be falling into place and honestly, we are ready to go places.
